Roller mill type MSM
Roller mills are used for processing of dry and loose gravidity flowing materials, mainly cereals in flour mills, for grinding of food grain and, if requested, for processing of screenings. They can be also used for grinding of maize, rice, chalk, some sorts of spice and chemical products. Two rollers revolving in different speeds in opposite direction form essential elements of the machine. They are either purposefully grooved or with smooth surface (“frosted”). Their grinding intensity and quality depends from applied type of grooving (density, inclination, angles of grooves), mutual position of grooves (edge/edge, edge/back, back/back), from lead (difference in the rollers speeds), from circumferential speed, amount of fed-in material and pressure of the fast roller against the slow one. A central engagement gear serves for adjustment of the milling gap and with the machine running to engagement and disengagement of milling rollers. By the side adjustment gear both rollers can be exactly aligned. The feeding device automatically controls the machine output within adjustable range and secures continuous and regular feed of materials.

Description of the machine
The machine has been designed as a massive cast iron structure. At the inlet there are sensors (in tree form) in a glass cylinder and feeding device in the upper part of the case control material feed to the rollers. The milling rollers, main parts of the machine, are kept clean by brushes mounted under them. The machine can be driven either from a line shaft or by V-belts fro self standing electric motors. Transmission between both rollers is secured by geared wheels.
The milling rollers are of unified diameters 250 mm, output from 3000 to 7500 kg per one meter of the roller length and per one hour (acc. to application in the milling line.)

Wheat milling – 8 m3 of air per 1 m of roller length - pressure loss 140 Pa.
Rye milling - 10 m3of air per 1 m of roller length - pressure loss 200 Pa.
These values are valid for mills with mechanical stock conveyance.

Data for electrical instalation
When the roller mills are driven individually, their motors are specified in a table of drives. Specification of each machine parameters follows the technological flow-sheet of the particular mill.
